A Prayer For When You Are Waiting On God

A Prayer For When You Are Waiting On God

Father, I pray for those who are experiencing times of waiting. We need Your grace and strength to trust Your timing.

“…but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.    (Isaiah 40:3)

We know Your ways are perfect. We commit our desires and questions into Your hands.

“He said to them: It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.” (Acts 1:7)

Please enable us to get up each day, and give us the strength to be faithful to do what You have called us to do.

“I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service…” (1 Timothy 1:12)

When we are tired, please give us strength. When we can’t see what You are doing, please provide hope.

“…but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)

When we need a reminder of Your faithfulness, please provide encouragement.

“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” (Lamentations 3:25-26)

When we feel like giving up, please enable us to persevere.

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”    (James 1:12)

Please provide some fun times of laughter during this wearing time.

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”  (Proverbs 17:22)

Father, help us to have Your perspective.

“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” (2 Peter 3:8)

If my waiting can somehow be used to point another person to You, or be used in some way for Your glory, I am willing to wait.

“I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.” (Philippians 1:20)

I need You to carry me during this time of uncertainty. I know You will.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”   ( Ecclesiastes 3:11)

Thank you. Amen

“Wait for the Lord; Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14)
